A wedding, a birthday, a work party. Make a private booking account, pick a musician from the Open Dawn roster, and get a quote written for your day. Accept it and the date is locked in. Nothing is charged until you do.
Three steps, and the first two take a few minutes on your phone.
A name, an email and a password. Then browse the roster: photos, videos, song lists and the nights each musician is free. Every act on it has been checked by Open Dawn.
One form with everything a musician needs to price it: the date and hours, the place, indoors or out, how many people, what the music is for, and whether there is a PA and power.
The musician writes a quote for exactly that. You read it in the app, line by line, with the total in front of you. Accept it, set up the direct debit, and the night is booked.
The better the musician knows the night, the better the quote. The form asks once for what they would otherwise ring you about.
What kind of event it is and what it is called. The date, and the hours you want music. The venue, the address and the suburb, and whether it is indoors, outdoors or both. Roughly how many people. What the music is for: background while people talk and eat, a featured set, something to dance to, or a ceremony and a reception. A few words about the night, and any songs you would love or would rather not hear.
Then the practical things: whether there is a PA or sound system, whether there is power where the music will be, how to get in and where to park. A budget if you have one in mind, which helps the musician shape the night to it. And a name and a phone number, so they can reach you with a question.
You see the total before you accept, and nothing is charged until you do.
The quote shows the musician's fee and, on top of it, the performer's superannuation, a small Open Dawn booking fee and GST where they apply, so the number you accept is the number you pay. Accepting sets up a direct debit for that amount. It is taken a month before the event, with an email before it leaves your account; if the event is closer than a month away when you accept, it is taken on the next collection run.
If the payment cannot be collected we tell you and try again the following week. If it has not arrived a week before the event, the booking is cancelled and the date released, so if your bank details change, update them in the app. You can cancel a booking yourself at any time before the payment is taken, and nothing is charged.
Free to set up, quoted for the day itself, and nothing is charged until you accept. Sooner than two weeks away, ring us and we will book it with you.
Yes, and it takes about a minute: a name, an email and a password. The account is where your quote arrives, where you accept it and where you see your booking afterwards, so there is nothing to keep track of in an inbox. There is no vetting and nothing to set up; it opens the moment you confirm your email.
Yes. Asking costs nothing and nothing is charged until you accept a quote. You can ask one musician or several, and decline any quote you do not want.
Every event is quoted for the day itself. The musician reads your brief, the date, the place, the hours and what the music is for, and writes a price for exactly that. The quote you see is the total, with the performer's superannuation, our booking fee and GST already included where they apply, so the number you accept is the number you pay.
By direct debit, a month before the event, and you get an email before it leaves your account. If the event is closer than a month away when you accept, the payment is taken on the next collection run. If it cannot be collected we tell you and try again, and if it has not arrived a week before the event the booking is cancelled.
You can cancel a booking yourself at any time before the payment is taken, and nothing is charged. Cancel after it has been collected and we sort the refund with you by hand. If a musician has to pull out, you are told straight away and we help you find another act for the date.
Yes. Send a request to each act you like; every request is answered separately and you accept whichever quote suits. Each musician sees only their own request, never the others.
Ceremony, canapé hour and reception, matched to each part of the day.
